Local band is going places

“We came from humble beginnings here in Edenvale but we have started to branch out.”

Over the past eight years, local band 4am have come a long way since it was founded in 2010.

Last year the band released its second album Dust n Dimes which took the group in a new direction.

The NEWS recently met up with lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Marc Wainstein to discuss the band’s progress since then and what the future has in store.

Marc, a Modderfontein resident, said over the past six months the band has been very busy.

“As we have grown many fans and community members have really become invested in the band,” said Marc.

“The response from the community has been really awesome.”

Marc said the hard work the band’s members have put in is starting to show.

“Over the years our biggest challenge has been ensuring that we produce quality music,” said Marc.

“We just had confidence in our music and kept on persevering.”

With the release of their second album, Marc said the band has moved away from its rock roots and is focussing more on acoustic sounds.
