Watch: Suspects ram gate open to rob Dunvegan couple

Police believe that three or more suspects were involved in the robbery.

Edenvale SAPS is investigating a case of armed robbery after a husband and wife were held up at gunpoint on June 2.

Head of Edenvale SAPS’ Crime Prevention Unit Colonel Jimmy Munzhelele, said the couple was robbed at a residential property in Dunvegan.

He said that the robbery occurred soon after the couple returned to the property.

According to information received the suspects gained entry onto the property by ramming the gate with their vehicle while the gate was still closing.

Once on the property two suspects, armed with handguns, held up the community members.

“The suspects took jewellery, a purse, and an undisclosed amount of money,” said Munzhelele.

Police believe that three or more suspects were involved in the robbery.

Munzhelele said no arrests have been made.

He urged community members to be alert and vigilant when driving home.

“If you feel that you are being followed drive to your nearest police station.”
