Murray Park celebrates Africa Day

JOBURG – During the event, one of the regular library users donated clothes to senior citizens.

Murray Park Library celebrated Africa Day under the theme, Opening the Doors of Learning and Culture from Cape to Cairo, on May 25.

During the celebration, City of Johannesburg libraries’ eLearning Unit hosted the final phase of the senior citizens programme where senior citizens spoke about their stories and what inspired them to join the programme.

The senior citizens also thanked the librarian for initiating the programme and the eLearning manager for facilitating it.

The Learning Unit started in February 2018 and progressed through multiple sessions that enabled senior citizens to acquire digital skills progressing to ultimately typing their own stories.

During the event, one of the regular library users donated clothes to senior citizens.
