Take note: Planned closure of Club Street announced

The road will be closed in three phases.

Club Street in Senderwood, Bedfordview, will be closed on May 29 due to developments in Huddle Park.

The closure will affect traffic flow in Senderwood.

According to Christoff Bester from Cebukhula Construction, the road will be closed in three phases.

He mentioned there will be a few days break in between beginning on May 29.

Bester said the road will be closed for a maximum of 24 hours before it is reopened again.

Residents should look for alternative travelling routes.

Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphrey’s said they cannot do this over a weekend in case of infrastructure damage which will take longer to fix over a weekend.

“There is going to be chaos in Senderwood when this happens with huge trucks trundling through quiet streets,” said Humphreys.

Humphreys worries that frustrated motorists will speed because of unexpected delays.

A request for comment was sent to the City of Ekurhuleni on May 23.
