#BedfordCentreHeist – Sentencing postponed a THIRD time as Zuma and Nhlapo seek new legal representation

The two claimed that the trial against them was unfair.

The sentencing of the men convicted for the 2015 Bedford Centre cash-in-transit heist, Celempilo Zuma and Temba Nhlapo, was again postponed in the Germiston Regional Court Four this morning.

Sentencing was postponed to June 13. This was the third postponement for sentencing.

Following the previous postponement on May 11, Zuma and Nhlapo today arrived in court after having sought new legal representation.

The new legal team for the pair stated in court that the transcripts of the previous proceedings were needed as the two claimed that the trial against them was unfair.

Previously reported:

The two men were found guilty for their involvement in the 2015 Bedford Centre cash-in-transit heist. Sentencing was initially scheduled for February this year and last week’s postponement was the second in the case.

The men were each found guilty of Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition.
