Girlfriend serves deadly pudding to boyfriend’s other woman, confesses to murder

"The police went to interrogate the other woman, who confessed that she gave the deceased pudding laced with rat poison. The woman also confessed to sending the message from the deceased's phone and throwing away the phone afterwards."

The Sebenza SAPS arrested a woman after the body of another woman was found in Croydon on May 5.

Sebenza SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Sharon Tsotsotso said the victim, who came from Tembisa, was dating a man who lives in Croydon.

“The woman, who was in her mid-20s, went to visit the boyfriend, only to realise that the man was living with his other girlfriend.

“A fight between the two women ensued and the man eventually managed to calm them down,” said Tsotsotso.

“The man told them that he loved both of them and would marry them. After that he left for a funeral in Limpopo, leaving the two women in the house,” said Tsotsotso.

“On May 5, the police received a call from the community about someone sleeping in the park. Upon arriving, the paramedics were on scene and had already certified the woman dead. Our preliminary investigations showed that the murder did not take place where the body was found. She was found wearing black tights with a vest that was pulled up and no shoes,” said Tsotsotso.

Tsotsotso said when the boyfriend returned from Limpopo, he went to the woman’s home in Tembisa to look for her after he received a message from the deceased’s phone telling him their relationship was over and not to contact her again.

“The woman’s family told him she was not home and they had last seen her on May 4. That is when they went to open a case of a missing person,” Tsotsotso added.

“The police went to interrogate the other woman, who confessed that she had given the deceased pudding laced with rat poison. The woman also confessed to sending the message from the deceased’s phone and throwing away the phone afterwards.

“She said after the she made the pudding and laced it with rat poison, the other woman complained about stomach cramps. The accused then put the victim in the boyfriend’s car and dropped her at the park. She said the woman was still alive when she left her in the park, but she knew she was dead the following day when she saw pathology vehicles in the park,” said Tsotsotso.
