Local residents are pageant finalists

Greenstone residents have been selected as Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa Top 100 semi-finalists for 2018.

Kaylan Bartlett and Kimeashni Naidoo, Greenstone residents, have been selected as Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa Top 100 semi-finalists for 2018.

“It is currently surreal. I am excited as we get to be involved in so many charity functions during the year to raise both awareness and some much-needed funds for the Women4Women Foundation,” Kaylan said after she was announced as a semi-finalist.

“As a geologist by profession, I am also excited that we will be concentrating on a recycling challenge within our communities with MPact. I think it is going to be a very busy year but also one of much fun and empowerment,” said Kaylan.

She will also have to juggle her master’s degree in mining engineering part-time as well as do her best with the Mrs SA 2018 pageant.

Kimeashni said she was excited to be part of an empowerment programme with 99 other beautiful and intelligent women.

“The feeling is still so surreal and I just want to embrace every moment of this journey which is completely out of my comfort zone and yet feel so good and natural,” she said.

Kaylan Bartlett has been selected as a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa Top 100 semi-finalist for 2018.

Only 25 lucky women will be selected to continue the journey as finalists.

The 25 finalists will be announced at the Annual Charity Ball on June 29.

All proceeds from this event will go to the pageant’s official charity, Women4Women South Africa.
