The organisation said it was 100 per cent behind the Harambee BRT system, but that under the leadership of the current mayor, Clr Mzwandile Masina, the Harambee BRT project continued to suffer a number of delays that were negatively affecting the roll-out of the project and denying the citizens of Ekurhuleni a better public transport service that is designed to transform the public transport network and support the economy of South Africa.

ETI said it called upon President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Gauteng premier, David Makhura, to act decisively and with speed to restore the faith and confidence of the citizens of Ekurhuleni.
