Woman arrested for growing marijuana

“SAPS received the information from the community via the Crime Stop telephone number.”

A woman in her 40s was recently arrested for the dealing and cultivation of marijuana.

The woman was arrested on March 13 at her property in the Avenues.

The arrest was made after Edenvale SAPS received information that the woman was growing the plants on the property.

“SAPS received the information from the community via the Crime Stop telephone number,” said Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS.

Olckers said in addition to the plants, police found dried marijuana and marijuana oils on the property.

He said the arrest was made by members of Edenvale Police Stations’ detective services.

“The woman will face charges of dealing and cultivating marijuana in court,” said Olckers.
