Jeppe SAPS appeals for help in finding kidnapping, robbery suspects

One of the suspects was wearing a security company uniform.

Jeppe SAPS appealed to the community to assist them in identifying two men who allegedly kidnapped and robbed a woman of her cellular phone and money.

Spokesperson for the station Captain Richard Munyai said the 31-year-old woman was approached by two unknown men on Siemert Street in Doornfontein on January 22.

“The men asked her if she knew a place where they sell cellphones and she told them she didn’t know any place,” he said.

Munyai said when the woman was about to cross the street, the suspects grabbed her and put her in the back of a white bakkie with a canopy.

“They drove with her and stopped on Beit Street where they took her two cellphones and R400. They ordered her to walk away and they drove off,” he said.

One of the suspects was wearing a security company uniform.

“The complainant did not recognise the name of the company. The other man was wearing a navy blue work suit. Both the suspects are tall.

Jeppe SAPS appealed to the community to help identify this man.

“A case of kidnapping and robbery was opened at Jeppe SAPS. We appeal to anyone who recognises these men to contact the investigating officer,” he said.
