Little Eden launches CEO wheelchair campaign

“I did not expect the amount of strain I felt on my upper legs brought on by being in a wheelchair the whole day.”

To celebrate National Intellectual Disability Month the Little Eden Society launched its annual wheelchair campaign.

The campaign, launched on March 1, saw CEO of the society Lucy Slaviero spend a week in a wheelchair.

It is held to create awareness about disability and raise much-needed funds for Little Eden.

“I did not expect to experience the amount of strain I felt on my upper legs brought on by being in a wheelchair the whole day,” said Lucy.

“A large amount of effort was required to propel myself and pass through narrow spaces.”

“Can you imagine the frustration of having no verbal ability to ask for help or even being able to propel the wheelchair,” asked Lucy.
