The home was founded in 2004 and takes care of community members who are affected by HIV/Aids.

Manager of the NGO, Eve Thavhana, said the home has more patients this year.

“It is difficult to run the home as we don’t have enough funds. We have 25 patients this year,” she said.

The home provides for patients’ basic needs, feeding and bathing them and monitoring their medication.

It was founded by Thulani Mngomezulu and the late Duduzile Zwane.

It started as a project for handing out food parcels and running support groups at Cleveland Police Station.

Tyrone Punt, who has been a resident at the home since 2015, said the NGO does all that it can to cater for the residents.

“It is a good place to live,” he said, but added: “We don’t have enough toiletries and food.”

Thavhana said the home needs food and a fridge.

“We also need paint to renovate the house. We would appreciate donations of any kind.”
