Church invites you to Wellness Day

The event will take place on March 3 from 8am to 12pm at the Pure Fountain Family Church, 120 Voortrekker Road, Edenvale

The Pure Fountain Family Church is partnering with the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) and Progress Educational Counsellors Organisation (Peco) to host an Edenvale Wellness Day.

The event will take place on March 3 from 8am to 12pm at the Pure Fountain Family Church at 120 Voortrekker Road, Edenvale.

“We acknowledge that individuals have to take responsibility for their health and we want to help our community take an initiative that promotes their well-being,” said Jane Mbithi a member of the Pure Fountain Family Church.

Mbithi pointed out that the SANBS will be present and take blood donations.

“We have partnered with them to reach more people who are able to donate blood because there is a continuous need for blood. For this reason, we encourage people to donate blood as a single blood donation saves up to three lives,” she added.

High blood pressure and blood glucose, as well as an increased prevalence of HIV and TB, are recurring health issues in our communities she emphasised.

“To assist in taking action against these health issues we want to create awareness through our partnership with Peco who will be performing several tests and screenings for free.”

Mbithi said the Wellness Day is devoted to the well-being of individuals within the community.

“As a church, we want to reach out and help to better the health of our community, so we encourage you to attend the Edenvale Wellness Day and get all your tests and screenings done for free.”
