Murray Park Library hosted aValentine’s fun day for 10 early childhood development day-care centres at Murray Park on February 14.

The centres that participated were Mamusha, Zamokuhle, Wings of Hope, Little Lambs, Blue Baby, Sedibeng sa Thuto, Impilo, Kiddies Palace, Sprout and Stesh Kids’ day-care centres.
Organiser of the event, Edith Khuzwayo said the aim of the day was to celebrate love by bringing children together.
“Valentine’s Day is about celebrating love. I love children and wanted them to feel special on this day,” she said.
Khuzwayo said the event was another way of building a working relationship between children and the Murray Park Library.
“Children must understand that the library is not only about books.
“Children can also have fun at the library,” she said.
The little ones played with buckets and water, had three-legged, spoon and egg or relay races, and played soccer as well.
The coach of Jairus Leaders, Jairus Njakazi – who was also a referee for the day – said it was an honour to be part of the event.
“I would have loved to do more for the children to make them feel special on this day,” he said.
Children were awarded certificates after the event.
“I would like to send my gratitude to Del Kings who sponsored the event by creating certificates,” said Khuzwayo.
