The word ‘Fiela’ means ‘to sweep’.

The aim of the campaign is to reduce crime by targeting illegal businesses and all illegal activities.

“We have started the operation but we won’t announce the dates and places to visit as we will be using the element of surprise.

“We will also be working with different stakeholders,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson captain Richard Munyai.

Munyai said if residents have information about different crime hot spots in the area, they should contact Jeppe SAPS on 011 624 6042.
