Art has always been her first love and she has been a full-time artist since 2004.

She considers herself primarily an experimental artist in that the process of producing art is as important as the emotions or subject that inspires it.

On February 17 she will be demonstrating one of her contemporary portraits at the Edenvale Community Centre.

Her portraits allude to the realities faced by everyday South Africans with a base of collage which reflects aspects of the sitter’s life.

She uses inks and oils applied with a palette knife to render an expressive portrait filled with colour and life.

Dalila has participated in over 25 group exhibitions and her works form part of both corporate and private collections both locally and abroad.

She will demonstrate a contemporary portrait painting using collage, inks and oils.
