SAPS makes 41 arrests in Yeoville precinct

JOBURG – The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison.

Yeoville SAPS made 41 arrests from January 29 to February 6.

The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from theft to assault and shoplifting.

The arrests included:

• One for possession of unlicensed firearm

• One for possession of a dangerous weapon

• Eight for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm

• Five for common assault

• One for shoplifting

• Four for possession of drugs

• One for theft

“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said spokesperson for Yeoville SAPS, Capt Sifiso Mabizela.
