Bedford Centre heist robbers will be sentenced tomorrow

They were found guilty on two counts of attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and armed robbery.

The two men arrested after the January 2015 Bedford Centre cash-in-transit heist will be sentenced tomorrow in the Germiston Regional Court.

Celempilo Zuma and Temba Nhlapo were found guilty on two counts of attempted murder,  possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and armed robbery.

The NEWS previously reported that on January 29, 2015 SBV guards collecting cash from the banking court were confronted by robbers on the escalators.

A shoot-out ensued, resulting in two guards, two shoppers and two suspects being injured.

The injured suspects spent over a month in a hospital, where they were kept under police guard.
