Joburg East SAPS make 138 arrests

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from assault, robbery, murder, and theft.

The Johannesburg East SAPS Cluster made 138 arrests from January 26 to 28.

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from assault, robbery, murder, and theft.

The Joburg East SAPS Cluster is made up of seven police stations namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood, and Yeoville.

The arrests include:

• One for murder.

• Eight for common assault.

• Five for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

• One for malicious damage to property.

• Two for shoplifting.

• Five for theft.

• One for theft of copper.

• Two for common robbery.

• One for house burglary and theft.

• Fourteen for possession of dagga.

• Two for fraud.

“The suspects have appeared in different courts.

“Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remained in custody,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson, Capt Richard Munyai.
