Residents urged to use water sparingly during heatwave

As the heatwave continues the metro urges residents to save water.

The metro urges residents to use water sparingly during heatwave conditions which are expected to last until the end of the week.

The metro’s water reservoirs might be running low due to high water demand and evaporation from dams that are exposed to the sun.

Some parts of the metro might also experience low water pressure due to low water levels in storage containers.

While the heatwave lasts, residents are requested to take the following steps:

• To use water sparingly.

• Not to water gardens during the day.

• To avoid filling swimming pools during the day.

• Not to use a hosepipe when washing cars.

To avoid heatstroke, residents should stay out of direct sunlight and congested places where air ventilation is minimal.
