The Paint and Palette Group will host its first demonstration this year on January 20.

The group will host architecture Danie Strydom.

Danie studied architecture at Pretoria University and during his two years of National Service, he enrolled at UNISA to do a couple of subjects in art.

Seven years ago Danie started pursuing art as a full-time hobby but did not take lessons as he did not want to be influenced by other artists.

Instead, he bought many books on artists, painting, and styles, and studied the techniques and philosophies behind art and artists. He started painting by going through the stages of art and used pastels, oils and other mediums in the process.

Danie has taken part in the annual Rotary Art Festival at Hyde Park, as well as Tina Skukan Gallery and various others.

The theme of his demonstration will be Process, Creativity and Energy. He will show by means of drawings how he uses technology to assist in the process of achieving creativity and energy.
