SAPS officers recognised

JOBURG – Captain Petrus Kunneke and Captain Hendrick Kotze were recognised for long service of a period of over 35 years.

Cleveland SAPS and Cleveland Community Police Forum’s (CCPF) annual top cop awards were held at Cleveland SAPS hall recently.

The aim of the awards was to honour SAPS officers and to encourage them to work harder.

CCPF deputy chairperson Mike Spadino, chairperson Godfrey Mothibe and Sergeant Jacky Maphuthoma.

Chairperson of CCPF Godfrey Mothibe said the heads of different units assessed which officers have performed best throughout the whole year.

“CCPF and the community members prepared for these awards by securing gifts and presents in a form of vouchers to enjoy breakfast for two at Court Yard Hotel in our precinct,” he said.

Mothibe said some presents were donated by Abelanani Creations.

“We have also developed a Certificate of Recognition of Performance which was handed over to those who were award recipients,” he said.

Captain Petrus Kunneke and Captain Hendrick Kotze were recognised for long service of a period of over 35 years.

“We are proud of them and would like to express our sincere gratitude for dedicating their lives to the service of humanity.”

“We also recognised the support service staff members for their contribution throughout 2017 by displaying excellent performances which deserve to be awarded with the same certificates, gifts and presents that are received by the SAPS officers. Five members from the support service staff were identified to deserve recognition.”
