Academic excellence celebrated at Sacred Heart

OBSERVATORY– award ceremony

Sacred Heart College celebrated academic excellence at the senior and junior high school awards ceremony on December 6.

The ceremony was attended by learners and their families.

The high school principal, Heather Blanckensee, spoke to the learners about dedication and hard work and the benefits.

The ceremony also introduced the 2018 learner leadership council.

Full colours for academic blazers were Charvana Skye Naidoo, Chiedza Makamanzi, Ruth McCormick, Nolufefe Maswangani, Kyara Plasket-Govender and Tejal Bipath.

Girl power stole the show as the full-colour academic blazers were given to six girls: Harvana Naidoo, Chiedza Makamanzi, Ruth McCormick, Nolufefe Maswangani, Kyara Plasket-Govender and Tejal Bipath.

The grade 10 top five achievers were Mahin Ali, followed by Zada Hanmer, Mathinya Kekana, Tariro Banganayi and Abongile Mzondeki.

The presidents are Kelechi Nwokeyi and Nolufefe Maswanganyi.

Grader 11 top five achievers were Ziyaad Tayob, Charvana Naidoo, Kyara Govender, Nolufefe Maswanganyi and Chiedza Makamanzi.

The executive of the learner leadership council are Nolufefe Maswanganyi (president), Kelechi Nwokeyi (president), Didintle Mogodi (deputy president) and Thomas Alfred (deputy president).
