Fight against crime boosted by businesses

The Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (CPF) received a donation to help them in their fight against crime.

The Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) received a donation to help the forum in their fight against crime.

Hyundai donated a branded Hyundai Accent 1.6 and the handover of the vehicle was held on December 1.”We approached Hyundai and they saw the value we provide to the community and decided to sponsor the vehicle. We also approached other local companies to help sponsor insurance and fuel for the vehicle and we are grateful that they agreed to come on board,” said Bedfordview CPF chairman, Gavin Henry.

“Local companies see the value of the work we do as CPF in our attempts to assist police. We realised that we battle with gaining traction in the community and this vehicle will help tremendously with our work. The sponsorship will run for a period of 12 months.”

Jurgens Group, sponsored insurance for the vehicle.

Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys said the vehicle gave authenticity and adds value to the work the CPF does.

“Visibility is about reach, and this vehicle will help in ensuring that the CPF is able to reach the areas they need to get to when they conduct their duties. It gives validation to the work they do. This is a good day for crime fighters in Bedfordview,” said Humphreys. SAPPS Security sponsored fuel for the vehicle.
