Edenvale SAPS recently disposed of 9 000 litres of confiscated liquor.
The liquor was confiscated in August during operations which targeted illegal and unlicensed liquor outlets.
Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson of the Edenvale SAPS, said the liquor was taken from businesses across Edenvale.

The operation was conducted to clamp down on the illegal trade of liquor.
The 9000 litres included beers, ciders, wines, and spirits which were destroyed on November 14.
Following the disposal of liquor, the Edenvale SAPS will continue to prevent the illegal trade of liquor.
“Informative posters will be displayed in key areas this festive season to create greater awareness,” said Olckers.
Since the posters arrived on November 22 a community member has already reported a liquor outlet for trading illegally.
Olckers said as the festive season nears, liquor may be used more frequently.
He said crimes which increase because of alcohol abuse include assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, domestic violence and culpable homicide.
Olckers urged community members to drink in moderation.
He also reminded liquor outlets that it is illegal to serve liquor to minors and intoxicated customers.
