Yeoville SAPS made 73 arrests from November 1 to 14.
The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from rape to assault and robbery.
The arrests included:
• One for murder.
• Two for rape.
• Five for armed robbery.
• Five for common robbery.
• One for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
• Six for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
• Eight for common assault.
• Six for driving under the influence of alcohol.
• Nine for shoplifting.
• Eight for possession of drugs
• Three for possession of suspected stolen property.
• Three for possession of counterfeit goods.
• Five for theft.
• One for theft out of motor vehicle.
• Five for malicious damage to property.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said spokesperson for Yeoville SAPS, Capt Sifiso Mabizela.
