UPDATE: Bedfordview SAPS confirm SIX of seven robbers arrested, one injured in shoot-out

Six suspects were arrested after a house robbery in Killoran Road, Bedfordview.

Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Captain André de Jager, said the suspects were arrested after a house robbery which took place at about 10:30 this morning.

De Jager said a mother and her daughter were at the house when the robbery occurred. No one was injured.

“The woman phoned her brother to alert him that seven men were in the house and the brother phoned 10111. The woman said she heard three bangs while the door was being forced open and the next thing the men were inside the house,” said de Jager.

The men asked about the safe and they were informed there was no safe.

They took television sets, computers, and cellular phones.

The suspects were apprehended by members of the SAPS Provincial Task team at the Engine filling station at the corner of  Van Buuren and Kloof Road.

A shootout ensued between the suspects and the police. One managed to flee and one of the six arrested was shot and injured. He was transported to hospital.
