Friends of Little Eden gather to give thanks

In his talk, his grace Archbishop Buti Tlhagale said that Domitilla, the founder of Little Eden, found spiritual relief in her work of charity.

Church groups, families and members of the community joined Little Eden Society residents and staff for the service of thanksgiving recently at the Little Eden, Domitilla and Danny Hyams home in Edenvale.

The most reverend Archbishop Buti Tlhagale and the Emeritus Archbishop George Daniel concelebrated holy mass at Little Eden’s our Lady of the Angels Chapel.

The event marked one of the last events in celebration of Little Eden’s 50th anniversary.

In his talk, his grace Archbishop Buti Tlhagale said that Domitilla, the founder of Little Eden, found spiritual relief in her work of charity.

“We all need some inspiration to do the work we do. Love has to be one of the sources of our inspiration. It was love that was needed to avoid the Life Esidimeni tragedy. The absence of love destroys organisations and the people who stay there,” he said.

The Christmas concerts which will take place in November will close off Little Eden’s golden year.

The society also thanked De Backery and Holstein Meats for sponsoring food platters and Mamba Strike Force for providing security on the day.
