Raking in the victories at SA Gymnastics Federation’s Zone Competition

She was awarded the trophy for most promising tap performer 13 and under at the festival.

Katherine Deacon represented central Gauteng for level three rhythmic gymnastics at the SA Gymnastics Federation’s Zone Competition.

Katherine Deacon, a Grade Two learner at St Andrew’s School for Girls, recently won numerous awards when she participated in the SA Gymnastics Federation’s Zone Competition, East Rand Dance Festival and the National Eisteddfod. Seen here is Katherine doing a gymnastic performance.

Katherine, a Grade Two learner at St Andrew’s School for Girls, came second in the u-8 age group and achieved gold medal scores for both of her routines.

She also recently performed seven dance routines at the East Rand Dance Festival.

At the festival, she was awarded numerous awards including first place medals in various dance categories and for being the most promising tap performer under 13 years old.

Besides the gymnastics and dancing awards, Katherine won junior diplomas for piano elementary level and voice solos at the National Eisteddfod.
