Probus Club Bedfordview celebrates 30th anniversary

Probus Club Bedfordview was accredited and registered by Probus Council of Southern Africa on November 13, 1987.

A celebration to mark the pearl anniversary of Probus Club Bedfordview was held at St George’s Village in October.

The club, formerly known as Probus Club of the near East Rand is sponsored by Rotary.

Honourary foundation life members, first president Vernon Schultz and first vice-president George Nisbet, Rotary president Bedfordview, three Probus Association Gauteng officers, club members and visitors were present at the celebration.

The aim of the Professional Business Autonomous Clubs, internationally and nationally, is to provide regular meetings of retired and semi-retired men and women with similar interests, who appreciate and value opportunities to share activities and common interest.

The club meets at 10am for 10.30am on the first Tuesday of each month at St George’s Village.

“If you know a Probus member, ask them to bring you to an open meeting and be your sponsor,” said vice-president, Ken Girdwood.
