Local beauties are Look of Fashion finalists

BEDFORDVIEW – Look of fashion showcases talent.

The Eastgate Shopping Centre‘s signature fashion event Look of Fashion revealed its 12 candidates to compete in the finale on September 5.

This year sees local beauties Tamiya Smit from Bedfordview, Mishka Kramer from Greenstone and Ferini Dayal from Kensington amongst the finalists.

Kensington’s Ferini is all about beauty and brains and said Look of Fashion was the perfect platform to showcase a definition of a modern woman.

“I have always strived to seek balance in all spheres of my life, so my intention is to break the stereotypical fallacies of women and prove that brains and beauty are what an ideal woman needs to embody,” said Ferini.

The Biomedical science graduate said being part of the pageant means she can grow as a person and in the process bring people together who share the same vision as her.

“This experience will be a learning environment for me, but my intention is to learn to market and portray myself in different disciplines, understand the media industry and hopefully be able to use the platform in my primary career path,” she said.

She said if she wins she would like to use the platform to boost the image of a strong independent woman.

Tamiya from Bedfordview said: “I entered the pageant again because last year it was a beautiful experience and I learnt a lot about myself and I have also grown a lot since last year. I definitely think maybe second time is a charm.”

She said this year she is coming in wiser because this pageant challenges the girls to learn about themselves.

“Being part of this competition means so much to me. It’s not just another pageant. It’s an opportunity for self-growth, a challenge to myself to step outside my comfort zone and to form new beautiful friendships,” said Tamiya.

The Bedfordview beauty said she wants to walk away from the challenge a much stronger person even if she does not win.

Mishka from Greenstone said: “I have a huge passion for fashion and beauty and always want to keep up with the latest trends as well as be part of the Eastgate family.”
