A total of 133 suspects arrested by Joburg SAPS East Cluster

JOBURG – The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison.

The Johannesburg SAPS East cluster arrested 133 suspects from September 4 to 10.

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from rape, robbery and murder to theft.

The Joburg SAPS East Cluster is made up of seven police stations, namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.

The arrests included:

• Nine were arrested for common assault.

• Fourteen for assault with intend to do grievous bodily harm.

• Six for malicious damage to property.

• Four for possession of unlicensed firearms.

• Four for possession of stolen property.

• Two for rape.

• Two for murder.

• Fourteen for theft

• Seven for common robbery.

• Three for house burglary and theft.

• Ten for driving under the influence of alcohol.

• Nineteen for possession of dagga.

• Four for theft of copper cables.

• Five for armed robbery.

• Eleven for fraud.
