Ekurhuleni North Cluster organised a joint operation for all stations in the cluster.

Ekurhuleni North SAPS Cluster organised a joint operation for all stations in the cluster.

The stations that were involved in the joint operation were Olifantsfontein, Rabie Ridge, Ivory Park, Tembisa, Tembisa South, Norkem Park, Kempton Park, Sebenza and Edenvale.

In Edenvale, the joint operation took place on September 7.

Sebenza SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, said it was part of Operation Basadi where police women were leading the operation.

“The purpose of the operation was to reduce crime. We had a roadblock in Edenvale on Van Riebeeck Avenue together with female metro police officers. We then went to the Sebenza area to do stop-and-search operations,” said Tsotsotso

Tsotsotso said they searched more than 100 cars and also issued 20 traffic fines.
