The Johannesburg High Court sentenced Walter Dumisani Khumalo to life imprisonment for murder and for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Khumalo was arrested on July 15, 2015, in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Captain Johan Jordaan, the convict shot and killed a 24-year-old man at Denver Men’s Hostel in 2014.
“The convict confessed to the murder during the investigation,” said Jordaan.
