Helping your child achieve
There is so much pressure on our children to perform in so many areas in life.
As a busy working mom of six young children, I needed an environment that offered excellence in homework supervision which reinforced lessons learnt at school.
I needed a system that would encourage my children to establish a routine and help them develop a sustainable and responsible approach to homework, projects and studying.
After many au pairs and tutors with many hours of frustration at the lack of excellence, TopMarks Aftercare was born.
My exposure to many children at various stages of their educational journey has shown me that there is a bigger need than just aftercare.
And so, the seed for a learning centre was planted.
My quest for excellence continued.
I have been fortunate to meet and befriend many teachers due to my involvement in our children’s schools over the years.
This reinforced my belief that there is a need for academic support for learners in 2017.
Having a heart for children and wanting to see them reach their academic potential, whatever that level may be and ExtraMarks Tutoring was born.
So why a learning centre?
One of the cornerstones of what I believe is that family life is of utmost importance but it is disrupted by too many activities.
There is so much pressure on our children to perform in so many areas in life.
By keeping work at work, for both parent and child, home life is able to remain less pressured.
While some academic work will still need to be done at home, we want to keep the school work disruptions to a minimum in your home environment.
And therefore, ExtraMarks is your home-away-from-home learning centre.
In our structure, the learner’s will be taught in groups of three or four by qualified teachers or an expert in their field.
Each session will last for 50 to 60 minutes.
The composition of the groups will be determined by the learner’s individual needs.
We believe that the interaction in a small focused group will stimulate additional learning.
Within the group, some one-on-one time will be facilitated as the need arises.
In essence, the heart and soul of ExtraMarks Tutoring are seeing each learner achieve their own academic potential and to allow each parent and family to enjoy and reach their family potential.
