Sky is the limit for Kubone

JOBURG – Young women must be aware of domestic violence and must report it immediately to the police.

Brigadier Thembekile Kubone is a station commander for Jeppe SAPS.

She started her police career in 1991 at Roodepoort SAPS as a Constable.

“I have always been passionate about the police force,” she said.

Kubone was born in KwaZulu-Natal but grew up in Soweto.

She progressed through the ranks until she was promoted to Superintendent at the former Area Soweto as Area Head Communication & Liaison Services.

“I took a transfer to become a station commander at Primrose SAPS in 2010,” she said.

She managed to accomplish several successes in Primrose and as a result, she was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 2014.

“I then became a station commander at Alberton SAPS where I faced many challenges. The station was not functioning properly and members were ill-disciplined.”

In 2016, she was promoted to the rank of Brigadier at Jeppe SAPS as a station commander where she serves under the leadership and mentorship of Major General Ndaba.

Kubone encouraged the youth to stay away from crime.

“They must also stay away from drugs and keep their focus on education. Young women must be aware of domestic violence and must report it to the police immediately. To all young women in blue – serve with pride,” she said.
