Talking about the arts

Terry spoke about Fine Arts, how to get started painting and how to become an artist.

The Women’s Institute, a group of warm, friendly women get together once a month to see a demonstration or listen to a talk.

At their monthly meeting, the women learn about a variety of interesting topics presented by guest speakers, who are experts in their particular fields of interest.

The group was founded over 50 years ago.

The guest speaker for August’s meeting was Terry Baker, chairman of the Edenvale Paint & Palette Group.

Terry spoke about fine arts, how to start painting and how to become an artist.

At the meeting, Terry brought a few of his own paintings to show the members what they could achieve.

The institute meets on the first Wednesday of each month and the next meeting will be held on September 6 at the Edenvale Bowling Club.

The meeting will start at 10am and new members and visitors are welcome to attend.
