Yeoville SAPS arrested 25 suspects from July 18 to 25 for committing crimes ranging from rape, theft, fraud and robbery.
The arrests were as follows:
- One for statutory rape.
- One for business robbery.
- One for housebreaking and theft.
- Five for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
- Two for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.
- Six for shoplifting.
- One for interfering with police.
- One for impersonating a police officer.
- One for possession of a dangerous weapon.
- One for pointing of a firearm.
- One for possession of dagga.
- Two for malicious damage to property.
- One for fraud.
- One for dealing in liquor without a licence.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said the spokesperson for Yeoville police station, Capt Sifiso Mabizela.
