A host of activities by Saheti High School for Mandela Day

All this was made possible through the partnership between the high school and the Sisonke Nathi (a non-profit organisation working with the homeless and destitute, as well as abandoned and abused women and children)

On July 8, the high school, in collaboration with Sisonke Nathi, hosted a ‘Christmas in July’ party for 100 children at the Abraham Kriel Children’s Home.

Sisonke Nathi is a non-profit organisation working with the homeless and destitute, as well as abandoned and abused women and children.

The non-profit organisation organised the event, while students collected items to contribute on the day, and also assisted with all activities that took place.

In addition to organising party packs and fun activities, the pupils also provided blankets – some hand made – for each child. Canned food was also collected for the Sisonke Nathi pantry for soup kitchens that provide meals on a regular basis.
