Kiley Cassel, an Edenvale ambassador for the foundation, said all the scarves were handmade, either knitted or crochet from wool that had been donated.
“We have a small group of women who meet regularly on a Saturday afternoon to make squares for this wonderful cause,” said Cassel.

She said the outreach committee from Holy Rosary School also assisted.
Cassel said it was overwhelming to experience the gratitude shown by people who received the scarves.
On the day the group was joined by Sergeant Jacob Mashile, the head of the Edenvale SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit and Councillor Heather Hart.
“Jacob is always supporting our cause, we are so grateful for his efforts,” said Cassel.
She appealed to the community for wool donations to let the group continue the work they do.
“Anyone can join our group of women and will be welcomed,” said Cassel.
