On suspect was killed and two others arrested following a business robbery in Edenvale last night.
Community members alerted the Edenvale SAPS to the crime and provided officers with a description of the two vehicles used.
While responding to the scene officers spotted the two Toyata Corollas fleeing the area.
Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson of the Edenvale SAPS, said when officers attempted to stop the vehicles occupants of the second vehicle opened fire.

“The officers returned fire and the suspects lost control and rolled their vehicle,” said Olckers.
One suspect was fatally shot during the chase and died on the scene while another was injured.
“Three firearms were recovered and the vehicle was also seized,” said Olckers.
He said suspects in the other vehicle evaded the officers however a second suspect was arrested later the evening.

Olckers said both suspects will face charges of business robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The injured suspect is receiving medical care under police guard.
