Family’s alleged attackers caught

JEPPE - SAPS arrested eight suspects allegedly involved in the attack of a KwaZulu-Natal family.

Jeppe SAPS arrested eight suspects allegedly involved in the attack of a KwaZulu-Natal family.

They were arrested for possession of unlicenced firearms at Jules and Princess Streets in Jeppestown, on July 2.

This comes after police officials received a tip-off about the eight men who were driving in a Toyota Quantum.

According to Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai, the suspects allegedly attacked a family and killed livestock in KwaZulu-Natal.

“Police spotted the Quantum and stopped it. Upon searching it, officials found two firearms, a revolver with three live rounds, a 9mm pistol with two live rounds and an extra magazine,” said Munyai.

Munyai said the 9-mm pistol’s serial number was filed off.

“The suspects, aged between 23 and 36 were arrested and detained at Jeppe Police Station,” he said.

The suspects are believed to be related.
