14 arrested during a routine crime operation

Sebenza SAPS arrested 14 suspects over the weekend of July 7 to July 9.

Sebenza SAPS arrested 14 suspects over the weekend of July 7 to July 9.

The suspects were arrested for various crimes including possession of dagga, driving under the influence of alcohol, theft and warrant of arrest.

Sebenza SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Sharon Tsotsotso said the police were doing a routine crime operation when the suspects were arrested.

“There was already a warrant for arrest for one of the suspects arrested. The 26-year-old failed to appear in court last month after he violated a protection order.

“The suspect was traced by police and found in Cresslawn after officers received a tip-off from the community,” said Tsotsotso.

She commended the community for helping with the arrest of the suspect.

She urged the community to continue working with the police in the fight against crime.
