KENSINGTON – The aim of the project is to bring positive activities to the community.

East Jozi is a community project that is all about youth empowerment through arts.

The aim of the project is to bring positive activities to the community mainly focusing on art and youth development. East Jozi will be having a poetry session, World of Words (Wow), on 25 June at Café 141 on Queen Street in Kensington.

The initiative, started in 2011 by Hector Mgiba and Nkosana Mhlari, has grown ever since with the support from the community.

“Wow poetry session is a platform for poets and artist to come together and share talents. We are trying to create an intimate world of expression, through art, for poets and lovers of words to come and get lost in our world,” explained Mgiba.

The poetry sessions will take place twice a month on Sunday’s at Cafe 141. Mgiba invites artist and poets to come and share their work.
