Two men caught with stolen items in Yeoville

JOBURG – Two suspects are expected to appear in court for theft.

 

Members of the Johannesburg East Cluster Operational Command Centre arrested two suspects for possession of stolen property in Yeoville on 22 May. According to Yeoville Police Station spokesperson Captain Sifiso Mabizela, police received a call about a burglary in Kensington. “Officials proceeded to the given address. The victim tracked her stolen phone which led officials to Yeoville.”

Mabizela said police came across two males who were carrying bags. “Officials searched them and found the stolen laptop and cellphone from the victim’s house in Kensington,” he said. The suspects were also in possession of two Apple iPads, two laptops, three digital cameras, five luxurious perfumes, a Nokia cellphone and accessories for the camera and laptops.

Mabizela said the suspects may be linked to a Cleveland house robbery, and investigations are ongoing.
