Yeoville police arrested 31 suspects from 22 to 29 May for crimes ranging from assault, theft and robbery.
The suspects were arrested for the following:
1 sexual assault
1 common robbery
5 for possession of stolen property
5 assaults with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
4 common assaults
2 for driving under the influence
1 for pointing a firearm
4 for shoplifting
1 for drug dealing
4 for drug possession
2 for theft
1 for reckless and negligent driving.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said spokesperson for Yeoville Police Station, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
