The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has provided comment with regards to the state of Edenvale’s roads.
The comment come after numerous requests were sent to the EMM earlier this year.
Before the November 9 floods and within the six months following the floods, the News has reported extensively on the deterioration of Edenvale’s roads.

In one of the most recent articles, the NEWS sent an enquiry about the condition of the road at Hendrik Potgieter and Seventeenth Avenue.
The News asked if the EMM was aware of the deteriorating condition of the roads in Edenvale and what was being done to remedy the problem.
Themba Gadebe, spokesperson of the EMM, said the City of Ekurhuleni is aware of the condition of the road infrastructure in Edenvale.
“A priority list for road rehabilitation is currently in the process of being compiled for the next financial year (2017/18), which starts in July 2017,” said Gadebe.
He said in the current financial year, over R20-million was spent on the Edenvale road rehabilitation programme.
