Rotary Club kicks off new year

The Rotary Club of Bedfordview, with Make-a-Difference (MAD) Knitters, are keeping the community warm and loved.

Rotarian Filippa Heyneke met with Marlene Mitchley and handed her a donation of wool.

MAD Knitters is a non-profit organisation cum non-denominational group of ladies who meet on the first Saturday of each month.

Their aim is to keep the less fortunate warm and loved.

“It is wonderful to see that our special community of women getting together and forming their own groups of family and friends to make a difference to those less fortunate. Each person involved is so special and dedicated,” said Heyneke.

Every year in June the women donate beanies to the Edenvale Methodist Church when they hold their Winter Lunch for the Homeless.

“These beanies are knitted with such love and dedication,” she said.
