Approximately 18 heavily armed suspects robbed four shops at a small shopping centre of an undisclosed amount of money on Saturday, May 20 (date corrected).
The incident occurred shortly after 6pm.
It is alleged the suspects rushed into the small shopping centre in Klopperpark and robbed four shops simultaneously.
Some of the customers were also robbed in the process.
Two vehicles, a Volkwagen Polo and a Mercedes Benz, were also taken during the robbery.
As the suspects fled the scene they fired shots into the ground.
The Polo was later recovered at Jeppe Hostel, while the occupants of the Mercedes Benz were involved in a crash on the R24 highway.
The occupants of the Mercedes Benz then fled on foot.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
