45 suspects nabbed for different crimes in one week by Yeoville police officers

JOBURG – Yeoville Police Station on the ball.

Yeoville police officers arrested 45 suspects from 8 to 15 May for different crimes ranging from assault, theft and robbery. The suspects were arrested for the following:

  • 1 for possession of hijacked motor vehicle
  • 1 for armed robbery
  • 1 for business robbery1 for theft of motor vehicle
  • 1 for theft of motor vehicle
  • 2 for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm
  • 1 for common robbery
  • 6 for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
  • 2 for common assault
  • 12 for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs
  • 1 for shoplifting
  • 2 for possession of stolen property
  • 2 for possession of dagga
  • 1 for possession of a dangerous weapon
  • 5 for theft
  • 3 for contravention of the liquor act
  • 1 for malicious damage to property
  • 1 for reckless and negligent driving
  • 2 for theft out of a motor vehicle.

“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison,” said Yeoville Police Station spokesperson, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
